Profhilo
What is profhilo?
Profhilo is an injectable anti-ageing treatment made from hyaluronic acid which helps skin that’s losing its elasticity and firmness. Hyaluronic acid is usually used as filler to provide volume for different parts of the face in botox and filler treatments.
However, profhilo differs because it’s structure and gel-like consistency allow it to flow throughout your skin in order to boost hydration and smooth the skin.
This treatment is commonly used on the face, neck, decollette, hands and knees or other parts of the body that show visible signs of ageing.
How does Profhilo work?
Profhilo uses a pure form of synthetic hyaluronic acid, injected into the upper layers of your skin with a very small needle. Unlike the hyaluronic acid used in fillers and botox, profhilo uses a runny consistency which allows it to be dispersed into your skin where it begins to remodel your skin to make it look smoother and tighter.
Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in our bodies and helps to retain moisture in our bodies as well as aiding collagen production which keeps your skin looking young, bright and healthy.
As we age, the production of hyaluronic acid slows down which can leave our skin looking dull and dehydrated and allows fine lines and wrinkle to form.
Profhilo contains a high concentration of stabilised hyaluronic acid and, once injected, reacts with your skin tissue to boost hydration.
What are the benefits of profhilo?
The key benefits of profhilo include:
● A non-surgical treatment with highly effective results
● Fights skin laxity by remodelling collagen and elastin to counteract skin laxity
● Improves skin quality by reducing the appearance of wrinkles and loose skin

What to expect after profhilo
Profhilo is a two part treatment with treatments being around 30 days apart. In between sessions, your skin will work to produce new collagen and elastin which gives your skin a firmer and plumper look and feel.
You won’t see the full results until after the second round of treatment as this is when your skin will begin to produce more collagen and elastin. However, you will notice slight changes after the first session.
There is no downtime needed after the procedure, but you may see small lumps at the site of the injection, these are usually very easy to cover and will die down within 24 hours.
