Anti-Wrinkle Injections
What are Anti-wrinkle injections
Anti-wrinkle injections are commonly referred to as ‘Botox’, short for Botulinum toxin. This is a naturally occurring protein that causes the muscles of the face to relax, consequently smoothing out wrinkles. It is the UK’s most popular cosmetic treatment for the removal of wrinkles.
Once injected into the muscle, the mechanism of action of botulinum toxin is to cause temporary muscle paralysis through inhibiting the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine from motor nerve terminals. This prevents muscular contraction and hence creates the desired cosmetic effects. With time, synaptic-sprouting and receptor formation leads to the reoccurrence of muscular contractions and hence the ‘wearing off effect’ of botulinum toxin.
Botulinum toxin for wrinkle-relaxing is the most popular non-surgical treatment in the world today. There is one very simple reason for the international runaway success of Botox; it works very well.
As we age, skin loses its elasticity, and lines begin to form which can make us look older than we are, or can spoil otherwise healthy-looking skin
The results will not look unnatural or obvious, it will give your face a lift and you will look fresh.
The philosophy of Welton Aesthetic Clinic is to prevent premature ageing and provide optimum results by using injectables and providing evidence based skincare.
